The Struggle to Learn from Racial Injustices Continues

“Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
– George Santayana

As we struggle to understand how unabating injustices plague this nation Propertybase stands by its commitment to the Black Community and those striving to demolish systematic racism, inequality, and prejudices of any kind. Our Diversity Team progresses towards a number of commitments, including the celebration of Hispanic-Latino Heritage Month and working with day programs within our local communities which we know will be launching pads for larger efforts.

In life, there is always the first step. Propertybase is both humbled and proud to donate to the following racial justice and civil rights organizations. If you’re struggling to identify an organization to whom to donate, please look into these or others like them in your local area.

Equal Justice Initiative: The EJI is committed to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the United States, challenging racial and economic injustice and protecting basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society.

National Urban League (Denver): The National Urban League is a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities.

Black Lives Matter (Boston): BLM Boston galvanizes our communities to end state-sanctioned violence against Black people; supports the development of new Black leaders, as well as create a network where Black people feel empowered to determine our destinies in our communities; and follows a queer Black feminist theory of creating change within the Black communities.

West Valley NAACP (Phoenix): The mission of the WV-NAACP is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic quality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

Don’t be silent, be resilient. Speak with conviction and truth, not with fear. Together, let us write a different chapter of history before we are doomed to forever repeat it.
