We are giving away an iPad Air each week through Feb. 14 to show our readers we love them. Read about how second winner, Kim Starks, believes an iPad will do for her what a smartphone cannot.
Kim Starks managed a Real Estate office in Warwick, N.Y., for six years before becoming a licensed agent. For the previous five years, she has worked primarily with homebuyers for Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty in Warwick. She wanted an iPad because without mobile devices, it is unnecessarily difficult to manage a business, she said.
"The smartphone makes it possible to handle business on the go; between receiving (and) making calls, sending e-mails, looking up property info, keeping calendars, reminders (and) social media," she said. "Laptops and iPads ... are also an important tool, whereas the larger projects can be focused on and implemented (such as) spreadsheets and creative mailings."
Starks also values referrals and working closely with her clients in their communities — the personal connections that aren't possible solely with new technology.
