The Propertybase Sailing Team: Going to the World Championships!

September 6th, 2013 – in miscellaneous propertybase

We’re extremely proud to announce that the Propertybase Sailing Team, will be participating in the 2013 Audi SB20 World Championship. Here are some picture of our preparation work and kitting out the team and boat.

For those who aren’t in the sailing know, this is the biggest sailing tournament for the SB20 Class. Worlds 2013 takes place at Hyères from the 7th until the 13th of September. Situated betweet St. Tropez and Marseille on the Côte d’Azur, Hyères is THE sailing city. Warm and Sunny throughout the Spring and Summer combined with very good wind conditions, Hyères is the backdrop to dozens of sailing events throughout the year.

With 100 teams participating in the Worlds 2013, we’re extremely excited to see how the Propertybase team will fare. If their performance at the Kieler Woche is any indication, we have the best of hopes, and wish for their safety and success during the event.

After winning the Kieler Woche 2013 as an independant team, Daniel Spänle (steering), Tobias Spänle, Ines Herbolt, and Konstantin Krauss were named the top sailing team in Germany in their boat class. In order to be able to take their next step to an international competition, they needed sponsorship for their team. Konstantin is our CTO at Propertybase, so sponsoring their team was a no brainer. As an active sailor, Konstantin has always shared his love of sailing with us, and we’re extremely proud to be able to name them the Propertybase Sailing Team.

The Propertybase team will be sailing an SB20, a 20-foot, international one design sports boat, for a team of 3 to 4 people. Because the SB20 is extremely light and fast, yet easy to handle, the class attracts the highest calibre of sportsboat racers world wide.

The team will be posting updates from the races, so make sure to follow the hashtag #sb20worlds during the next week on the Propertybase twitter handle and check out our facebook and google plus for some pictures from the event.

SB20 class has active Twitter and Facebook accounts, so make sure to follow them if you’re interested in knowing more about the sport and the progress of the teams over the coming week.
